Batukaru - The Heart of Bali
The central peak of Bali, Batukaru (2254m) is a less beaten path.
Lush jungle, raspberry, giant ferns and coffee, moss and mists cover this sacred sleeping volcano,
an adobe of Saraswati, the Goddess of arts and knowledge
WHAT TO EXPECT
Full day in real jungle
The hike takes 5-6 hours up and 4 hours down.
The slopes are not so steep, so it's rather a walk, although quite a long one.
In some places we will push through the bushes and high grass.
The flora of Batukaru is diverse and rich. Even Rudraksha trees can be met here, the stones of its blue berries are used for ceremonial beads in other parts of the world.
Near the entrance, there is a small reserve with deers one can actually touch.
